Growth: C. spectabilis has a sub-shrubby or shrubby growth habit, erect, 1 to 1.5 m tall, glabrous or pubescent branches, simple leaves, black vegetables and Asian origin (FLORES, 2004).

Characteristics: It is an annual spring-summer legume whose main characteristic is that it is a poor host for nematodes. It is considered the most efficient legume in reducing the population of most nematodes, with emphasis on the nematodes that form galls, cysts and root lesions.

Morphology: Its plants are shrubby, with erect and determined growth, relatively early, and, when mature, they are 1.0 to 1.5 m tall, but with slow initial development.
